A proof of the first pages set up and printed by William Heinemann Ltd at The Windmill Press ... from ‘Bread and Honey’

Windmill Press. Linford (Madeline)   Kingsmill, Surrey,  December 8th 1927 First Edition One of an edition limited to 12 numbered copies printed and bound at the Press  8vo Single signature, sewn, eight pages. Full blue calf, title gilt to upper cover and inner dentelles gilt Boards very slightly sprung and lower board lightly marked, but internally clean. A very nice copy in the original blank protective wrapper which is worn but substantially complete despite two small sections missing on the spine  The proof page consists of the first full page spread at the library. Bread and Honey was the first title to be printed at The Windmill Press. Heinemann had been founded by William Heinemann in Covent Garden, London in 1890.
