The Life and Works of Alfred Aloysius Horn

Forewords by John Galsworthy and William McFee   1929 First Edition  Three volumes   End-papers of Vol. I darkened and spine and covers somewhat faded and marked, otherwise a nice copy in fragmentary remains of dust-wrapper, newspaper cutting of an obituary loosely inserted; spines and/or covers of Vols. II and III a little faded, otherwise very nice copies in dust-wrappers  “Pioneer and blazer of trails in the jungles of the Ivory Coast”, Horn was the inspiration for the Hollywood film Trader Horn, the production of which he oversaw in person at the age of 78. The works comprise The Ivory Coast in the Earlies (foreword by Galsworthy), Harold the Webbed; or, The Young Vykings (foreword by McFee) and The Waters of Africa.
