Sade (D.A.F., Marquis de).    Chez tour les libraries, Bruxelles,  1870  The statement of limitation indicates a total of 130 copies, of which this is one of 120 "sur papier de Hollande"  Sm. 8vo Contemporary dark blue morocco, gilt, marbled paper sides Spine and edges of covers a little worn and upper corners slightly bruised, otherwise a nice copy; previous owner's signature, dated 1916, on preliminary blank. This copy has no frontispiece and seems never to have had one  Collates [i-iv]+[I]-CII+[1]-178. The prelimary text comprises two essays: “Le Marquis de Sade L’Homme et ses Écrits” and “La Vérité sur Le Deux Procés Criminels du Marquis de Sade”, the author of the latter being given as “Paul L. Jacob, bibliophile”. These preliminaries are followed by the text of Zoloé which occupies pp.1-138 and is provided with a separate title-page, bearing the imprint: A Turin; / se trouve a Paris, / chez tous les marchands de nouveautés / - / De L'Imprimerie de l'Auteur, / Thermodor, / An VIII. Then follow the two further works by de Sade.
