Further details upon request  George Ratcliffe Woodward (1848-1934) was a Church of England cleric, composer, historian of church music and hymnist, whose lyrics for the Christmas carol “Ding Dong Merrily on High” are probably his best remembered work today. His papers are housed in the William Andrews Clark Memorial Library, University of California, Los Angeles.
