Montgomery’s Christmas Annual 1955: A Case of Identity

Loosely inserted is a printed slip from the author’s wife explaining that her late husband had expressed the wish that the book be issued.  The author shows that the “Birlstone Manor” that features in “The Valley of Fear” was based on Groombridge Place, and not on Brambletye Manor as previously thought.
