Titus, Paris, September,  1932 First Edition    Wrappers Wrappers chipped, rubbed, marked and detached and edges of upper tape-stained; backstrip cracked with some significant loss, but internally a surprisingly clean, nice copy  This noteworthy edition of the influential journal was Guest Edited by André Breton and contains poems and prose by André Breton, Salvador Dali, Paul Eluard, Benjamin Péret and Tristan Tzara. There is also a first printing of an extract from ‘The Bride Stripped Bare by her Own Bachelors’ by Marcel Duchamp, and ‘Artine’ by René Char and ‘Every One Thinks Himself a Phoenix’ by René Crevel. These are accompanied by expositions on the theories behind Surrealism by Max Ernst and numerous others, together with medical studies of Surrealism and madness. There are also drawings by Giorgio di Chirico, Max Ernst, Man Ray, Yves Tanguy and Great Knutson, and a collaboration between Valentine Hugo, T.C. and Paul Eluard. Most notable perhaps is the Scenario for ‘Un Chein Andalou’ by Luis Bunuel and Salvador Dali
