Caricature of E.B. Noel, “Paulmier” of the Sette of Odd Volumes

(10.5 ins. x 6.75 ins.) Printed on Japanese paper Edges a little dust-soiled, otherwise a very nice copy  A separate “pull” of the caricature that appeared on the front cover of the Menu of the 393rd Meeting of the Sette of Odd Volumes, each menu being accompanied by one such “pull” which was presumably intended for framing. At this meeting Noel gave an after-dinner talk on “An Odd Survey of the Royal Game of Tennis”, a subject on which he was a recognised authority as co-author of the standard two-volume A History of Tennis published in the same year as he gave this talk.
