Rackham has annotated the title-page, inserting “parts of” into the line “With twenty-four drawings by Arthur Rackham”, crossing through the word publishers and writing “HANGMEN (Drawing & Quartering: a speciality)”, with a sketch of a hanged man signed with his initials. With Rackham’s bookplate for the renowned collector G.L. Lazarus loosely inserted
