A collection of three different designs of guest invitation forms for dinners of the Sette of Odd Volumes, 1886, 1891 and 1899

Sette of Odd Volumes.    Sette of Odd Volumes,  1886-1899   Three pieces 4to and Folio  Slightly dust-marked and a little creased from having been folded, otherwise in nice state throughout  Large, elaborate, decorative and determinedly archaic productions (in terms of both design and language), printed in black and red (to simulated a rubricated parchment manuscript), and used by the Brothers of the Sette to invite their special guests to its dinners. These particular examples are unused and await the addition of the invitee’s name and the date, place and sometimes the time of the dinner; most usually the Sette dined at “Seven O’Clock in the Evening Precisely”.
