Massin, Paris,   [1926]    Folio  pp. [4] + 20 pochoir plates, sometimes heightened in silver and gold, loose as issued; a very good copy in original quarter cloth portfolio boards, complete with original ties  Rare first edition of this compilation of designs by Samy, Rene Gabriel, Genet & Michon and Georges Champion. Born in 1890, Gabriel René was a wallpaper designer by profession, but soon branches out into the related fields of fabrics and carpets and from there to porcelain decoration, theatre design and furniture ensembles. He exhibited furniture from 1919 at both the annual Salons and at the 1925 Paris Exhibition. His designs here are of a kitchen and bedroom. Genęt et Michon, lighting manufacturers, founded in 1911, were pioneers of the suspended illuminated sphere and also produced ceiling dalles, lamps, lusters, wall brackets, epergnes and illuminated friezes. The designs featured by Georges Champion (1889-1940) of an office, kitchen and smoking room are typical, featuring severe geometric forms and simple planes with contrasting colours, influenced by De Stijl.
