Overheard on a Salt Marsh

Monro (Harold)  Two coloured drawings by Charles Winzer Poetry Bookshop, Rhyme Sheet - Second Series, No. 25,   [1924] New issue, “Second Thousand”    Broadside, approx. 15 x 8 inches Fine, unblemished copy   Monro’s poem had originally appeared (with another) as No. 4 in the First Series of Rhyme Sheets and, as a “New Issue”, was printed here on its own as No. 25 (the last) in the Second Series. In his bibliography Howard Woolmer states that he had located only one copy of this printing, that being the example in the Bodleian Library. He adds that “therefore, there is some doubt as to whether it was ever actually published”. It would appear from this copy that not only was it published, but that it also ran to a second impression of 1,000 copies, which makes its undoubted scarcity both surprising and inexplicable.
