Browning (Robert).    Edward Moxon,  1840 First Edition    Original drab boards, printed label on spine (Carter A), uncut. Half-title, eighteen pages advertisements at end Boards a little rubbed and soiled, lower joint cracked, spine slightly chipped and slight spotting to end-papers and half-title, but a very nice copy; ownership signature on front free end-paper and stamp on title, printed label “24” on spine, book labels Broughton, Northup and Pearsall A14; Wise 4; Tinker 416 Partly written in Italy, this is the densest of Browning’s works (even he described it as “unintelligible”).
