Sassoon (Siegfried).   Engraved throughout by Charles Sigrist, title-page by Stephen Gooden  1934 First Edition    Specially bound by Riviere & Son in full dark red panelled morocco, sides with triple fillets gilt, spine with raised bands, compartments gilt, lettered and dated and with the author’s monogram gilt, all edges and inner dentelles gilt Sides just a little marked and minor staining to rear end-papers, otherwise a very nice copy  303 copies were printed in all. This is inscribed and signed by Sassoon on the front free end-paper: “This copy is one of two, out of series, specially bound for C.H. Wilkinson, for the mutual satisfaction of himself and the author.” With Colonel Wilkinson’s bookplate and leather book-label. Wilkinson was Vice-Provost of Worcester College, Oxford, Librarian of the College and a curator at the Bodleian. He served in the Coldstream Guards during the Great War and was a lecturer in poetry and English Literature generally.
