A Darkened Being; an anthology

Sims (George F.).  Compiled by George Sims  Privately Printed at the Tragara Press, [Edinburgh],  1991 First Edition One of 200 copies    Fine copy; book-label. With loosely inserted, a Typed Letter signed by George Sims giving an assurance that the book was issued without a slipcase in spite of what was said in the prospectus.   Although Mr. Sims described this as an anthology, we see it more as a commonplace book, quoting verse and passages of prose by such diverse writers as Aldington, Connolly, Conrad, Dickens, Greene, Huxley, Joyce, Orwell, Tolstoy and Yeats, all exploring death, parting and the futility of existence. Readers of George Sims’s own verse and prose may find this book offers an absorbing insight into the author’s mind.
