In no case should the book be pressed, as that would destroy the “impression” of the type and thus injure the appearance of the printing.”  The original binding of this work was only ever intended to be temporary and most copies not rebound tend to show considerable wear and tear. This copy has been protected by what we take to be contemporary blue cloth dust-jackets, lettered in gold in the appropriate typeface on the spine panels.
