Best Poems of 1955: Borestone Mountain Poetry Awards 1956: A Compilation of Original Poetry...

Plath (Sylvia).    Stanford University Press, California & Oxford University Press,  1957      Cloth slightly marked and soiled and corners bruised, otherwise a nice copy  For the Borestone Mountain Poetry Awards (founded in 1947) annual final selections were made from a blind selection taken from recommendations made by reading staff from magazines. This edition contains two poems, “Aubade”, which won third prize and “Two Lovers and a Beachcomber by the Real Sea”, written by Plath whilst an undergraduate at Smith College, Massachusetts. An interesting example of Plath’s early published poems as an undergraduate, these two appearing three years before her first volume of poetry, The Colossus.
