Sette of Odd Volumes [Booklets for] October 1927 [and] January 1928

Heron-Allen (Edward).    Sette of Odd Volumes,   1927-1928   Two volumes 8vo Wrappers Wrappers somewhat dust-soiled, but internally very nice copies  Numbers LII and LIII of the series of Booklets listing the “Bretheren” of the Sette, its rules and publications; No. LIII has the tipped-in addenda slip of three “Supplemental Odd Volumes”. These two issues relate to the Sette’s Fiftieth Anniversary Year, celebrated during Heron-Allen’s Presidency. Heron-Allen had been elected to the Sette in 1883, served as Secretary in 1885 and Vice-President in 1892 but resigned in 1893. Although he did not seek and gain readmission until 1924 he had remained keenly interested in their work throughout the estrangement and formed what was apparently one of the outstanding collections of their printed output in private hands.
